NETS appoints industry veteran, Ricky Lim as CEO of BCS

Mr Ricky Lim, CEO of Banking Computer Services Private Limited, a NETS’ wholly owned subsidiary

Lim has 20 years of payment and financial service industry experience and was instrumental in the launch of FAST in Singapore.

Singapore, 1 June 2021 – Network for Electronic Transfers (NETS) today announced the appointment of Mr Ricky Lim as CEO of Banking Computer Services Private Limited (BCS) effective May 12.  Ricky is currently Managing Director of NETS subsidiary, NETS Solutions Pte Ltd and Head of NETS’ Merchant Business. BCS is NETS’ wholly owned subsidiary, and is an entity within the NETS Group. It manages and operates clearing and payment infrastructure for the Singapore Automated Clearing House, including Fast And Secure Transfers (FAST), Inter-bank GIRO (IBG), Cheque Truncation System (CTS), and provides services for PayNow and SGQR Central Repository.

Lim succeeds Mr Jimmy Quek who is stepping down for personal reasons after serving 39 years with the company.

Lim is a seasoned industry leader with over 20 years in payments and financial services. Prior to NETS, Lim held a number of senior roles in global transaction services at OCBC and Citibank. As Managing Director of NETS Solutions, Ricky led the team that successfully built Singapore’s FAST payment system in 2014. In 2019, he assumed the additional role of Head Merchant Business in NETS and was interim CEO of NETS Group from November 2019 to June 2020.

Prior to joining NETS Group, Lim was Senior Vice President and Head of Regional Cash Management at OCBC Bank responsible for driving the cash product strategy for Global Transaction Banking in Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia and Greater China. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems from the University of London.
