Singapore — NETS today rolled out the NETS eCommerce solution, a tie-up with local system integrator, Global Interactive Works, which enables Singapore retailers to set up online shop fronts instantly with pre-integrated payment options.
This new solution, which is targeted at brick-and-mortar businesses, offers SMEs an affordable and seamless online system to reach out to an increasingly Internet-savvy population.
Online shopping is on the rise in Singapore, according to Infocomm Development Authority of Singapore’s Infocomm Usage by Households and Individuals Survey 2014. About 1.44 million Singapore residents shopped online in 2014, a compound annual growth rate of about 14% from 2012. About 70% of these online shoppers spent at least $100 on their online purchases.
This “end-to-end” solution helps merchants to set up an eCommerce ready website, covering registration of a domain name, website design, incorporation of an integrated shopping cart with instant payment via eNETS, as well as IT support if needed. The solution costs merchants $72 a month.
Said Mr Joseph Chua, Head of Business Services, NETS, "Many mom and pop shops in Singapore are assaulted by an increasingly powerful tide of customers shopping online, but remain defenseless as they lack the experience and expertise to set up their online shop fronts. That’s where NETS wants to come in to partner them to create greater value to their business.”
"The outcome is to ensure that merchants are ready to take advantage of rising eCommerce trends, being relevant to their customers who are already shopping online for convenience 24/7, and helping them increase their business volume and profitability," he added.
The NETS eCommerce package is a comprehensive and competitively priced solution assisting merchants to go online in the market today. The solution was first announced on NETS' 30th anniversary as part of a suite of solutions to support retailers to set up online stores as well as enhance their business efficiency. It represents NETS' goal to proactively engage merchants to provide end-to-end solutions that address their business needs.
