NETS launches merchant solutions to support businesses beyond payments

  • NETS merchant solutions offer a customisable management system that can monitor inventory, manage sales, book appointments, and track commissions

Singapore, 9 November 2023 – NETS goes beyond payments with the launch of its merchant solutions, a customisable management system. This new offering is a part of NETS’ wider plan to become a partner of choice for merchants by providing a comprehensive range of payment options together with solutions that streamline business operations.

Targeting the food & beverage, hair & beauty and retail sector, NETS is able to provide its Integrated Point-of-Sale (POS) terminal solution, QR ordering or self-service payment solutions to small business owners.

Its integrated POS solution allows merchants to manage the entire store from one single terminal. Conventional POS systems typically comprise multiple devices such as a payment terminal, a cash drawer, a dedicated display, and a receipt printer at the cashier counter. As a result, merchants have to spend time integrating multiple solutions from different vendors to get their operations up and running. With the latest integrated POS solution, small business owners avoid dealing with multiple vendors, thereby saving time and money. Over 100 merchants participated in the pilot phase this year.

Key features of the NETS Integrated POS Solution

  • Cloud-powered: The handheld terminal runs on Android operating system and is connected to the cloud, so updates for menu items and promotions can be done instantly over the air. Business owners can update their menus from anywhere, anytime and apply them across all their outlets conveniently.
  • Comprehensive payment options: The handheld terminal accepts all major forms of payment such as NETS bank cards, NETS FlashPay, NETS Prepaid Card, credit cards as well as QR payments from DBS PayLah!, OCBC Digital, UOB TMRW and Alipay+, Malaysian digital payment apps and Thai bank apps.
  • Simple deployment: Integrated POS simplify deployment by offering unified hardware and software, streamlined setup, pre-configured software, compatibility, user-friendly interfaces, reducing the complexity and time required for implementation.
  • Beyond Payments: The handheld terminal can also handle other business-critical processes such as tracking sales, scanning barcodes, managing inventory, scheduling bookings, and calculating sales commissions.

Lawrence Chan, Group CEO, NETS said, “In a tight labour market, it’s crucial for small businesses to enhance productivity to stay competitive. Integrating solutions alongside payments enables micro business owners to operate efficiently through automation or self-service solutions, resulting in shorter waiting time for customers.  At the same time, it also provides businesses with instant information of their sales performance, allowing them to manage the business with a data-driven approach.”

Retail

Tracking and managing inventory are seamlessly integrated with payment processing on a handheld terminal. This means that retail staff can effortlessly manage inventory across multiple outlets, online and offline, as information is updated in real-time. They can also process transactions, and even assist customers with price checks or product inquiries, all while staying at the customer’s side. No more running back and forth to a central cash register or inventory room.

Hair & Beauty Salon

Picture a bustling salon where the team needs to book appointments, sell packages, roster staff and manage inventory. Managing all these aspects can be overwhelming, but with NETS Integrated POS, they can now do all these with ease.

F&B

Dealing with peak hour rush and manpower crunch can now be alleviated. All ordering and payment processes can be consolidated into one handheld terminal, enabling waiters to take orders and accept payments without having to leave the customer’s table. Convenient table-side QR ordering with payment via mobile devices and self-service kiosks are also available.
