The NETS CashCard is a multi-purpose stored-value smart
card that be used for just about any kinds of transactions.
Launched in 1996, it was issued by the three local banks,
DBS, OCBC and UOB.
About NETS CashCard:
1.
Since 1996,
6 million NETS CashCards have been issued and
approximately 1 million of them are active every
month.
2.
There are more than 35,000
NETS CashCard terminals including car parks, self
service kiosks and about 3000 top–up points
currently.
3.
The local banks’ branches,
7-Eleven and Cheers convenience stores, Esso-Mobil
and Shell petrol stations, selected car parks,
selected libraries, ATMs and AXS terminals are
just part of ever-expanding NETS CashCard distribution/top-up
network.
4.
Each NETS CashCard
can be used up to 5 years, after which it expires
and a refund can be obtained on its remaining
monetary and deposit value.
About Combi NETS CashCard:
1.
NETS launched
the new NETS “Combi” CashCards with
both contactless and contact interface in July
2006 and have since released more than 1 million
cards.
2.
Users can now enjoy convenient
and fast less-than-1-second payments at merchant
outlets that accept the Combi NETS CashCard.
3.
The Combi NETS CashCard
can still be used at existing “contact”
points for payment and topping-up such as ATMs,
Car Parks and self-service kiosks.
4.
It will soon
be used for transit purposes when LTA accepts
the new Card Managers.
