NETS CashBack

1. What is the NETS CashBack service?
 
CashBack is a value-added service that allows your customer to withdraw cash from any participating outlet. The amount withdrawn will then be directed into your bank account by the next working day.
   
2. Is there a limit to how much a customer can withdraw from CashBack?
 
Yes. This is determined by:
• The daily withdrawal limit of your customer’s ATM card
• The cash limit you’ve set for the service

eNETS

1. What is eNETS?
 
eNETS is an innovative suite of electronic payment services created to meet the needs of Internet and Mobile payments.
   
2. What other services do eNETS provide?
  The eNETS suite of products include payments via:
   
  credit cards,
  direct debit (online direct debit via Internet Banking User ID and PIN)
  Virtual Accounts for YW8 (mobile payment by SMS and WAP)
  i2U (online person-to-person payment by e-mail and mobile phone)
  PDA (credit card payment via PDA)

3. How can I apply for eNETS services?

4. How long does the application process take?

5. What happens after my application is approved?
  You will receive the following items once your application is approved:
• Merchant Payment Gateway (MPG) software
• Operation manual
• MPG Integration manual

6. What hardware/software do I need?
  You will need:
• At least a Pentium III PC with 128MB of RAM
• At least 6GB Hard Drive
• ODBC-compliant database
• Software for writing CGI scripts
   
7. Will NETS help with the integration process?
  We advise that you source for an independent system integrator.
   
8. Why would I need the eNETS credit service?
  Instead of building your own e-payment application, eNETS Credit is the proven secure payment service for credit card payments online. NETS ensures 24/7 availability for all online transactions.
   
9. Are there any restrictions to the products/services I can sell with eNETS?
  No. There are no restriction as long as the products/services are not prohibited in Singapore.
   
10. Do I need to host my website with eNETS Credit or buy any special hardware/software?
  No. There is no obligation to buy any additional hardware/software.
   
11. Do I need to apply separately for eNETS CashCard, eNETS VCard?
  No. Both services will be activated with immediate effect when you sign up for NETS.
   
 
 

NETS EFTPOS

1. How do I sign up for NETS EFTPOS service?

2. What services can I offer to customers after signing up?

1. What is NETS Privileges Programme?
 
NETS Privileges Programme is a Loyalty Programme which rewards consumers with chances to participate in lucky draws and enjoy discounts and special deals at participating retail outlets whenever they pay with NETS.
   
 
 

NETS Gift Card

1. What is a NETS Gift Card?
 
The NETS Gift Card is not a credit card - it is a prepaid gift card that has a pre-defined value of S$ 30, S$ 50 and S$ 100 stored and is distributed from a number of select retail outlets in Singapore. The NETS Gift Card also comes with a variable stored value but is only available from NETS Office.

It can be used at select retail stores in Singapore that accept the NETS Gift Card. The total dollar amount of purchases made with the Gift Card will be automatically deducted from the value of the Card. The transaction receipt every time will indicate the balance amount on the Gift Card. Once the amount available on the Gift Card has exhausted, all transactions will be declined.
   
2. What makes the NETS Gift Card different from other Store Gift Cards and certificates?
  The NETS Gift Card is the ideal gift because it may be used at a wide variety of top retail stores in Singapore that accept the Gift Card. NETS Gift Cards are better than store gift cards and certificates because the recipient gets to choose from a vast selection of stores that accept NETS Gift Card. Unlike a store Gift Card or certificate, which limits purchases only at that store.

Moreover, one Card can also be used a number of times, at different retailers, until the funds are depleted. This way, the gift recipient has maximum flexibility to use the gift as he or she chooses. In addition, as a plastic card, it can be held easily in a purse or wallet without folding or tearing.
   
3. Can value be added to the NETS Gift Card?
  No, but your customers can purchase a new NETS Gift Card from your store. Once the value of the Card has depleted, the Card is no longer valid and may be kept for its sentimental value.
   
4. How can I order NETS Gift Cards?
  NETS will assess the requirements based on the financial strength and consumer demand for the Gift Card product from each distribution point. When your inventory level is running low for any denomination, please call our Customer Services during business hours at the following telephone number to reorder stocks. NETS will absorb the shipping and handling fees.

5. How many Gift Cards can I order per time?
  The Gift Cards can be ordered as per your requirements, although there may be certain in transit security requirements necessary to ensure that the Gift Cards are handled in the most secure delivery manner possible. Our Customer Services representative will be able to tell you the number and value of Gift Cards that can be delivered when you place your order.
   
6. Once I have ordered the NETS Gift Card, how long does it take to arrive?
  After placing your Gift Card order, we process the delivery within 5-7 days.
   
7. Can I order Gift Cards in excess of my limit?
  Ideally the limits set by NETS would be sufficient to cater to your monthly requirements. However, should the need arise to increase the credit limit we would be happy to review this on a case-to-case basis. Please call our Customer Services representative at 6274 1212 for reordering enquiry.
   
8. Can I cancel my order before receiving stocks?
  After placing your Gift Card order, we send it for processing. If the cancellation request is not received prior to the despatch than the order cannot be cancelled.

We recommend an inventory level equivalent to one month projected sales.
   
9. Can I return the stocks after receiving them?
  The Gift Cards ordered cannot be returned as they are tied to your merchant ID. The stocks cannot be resold from any other location as well. There will be a cost of S$4 per card charged for the stocks returned.
   
10. What do I need to do after I have received the inventory of NETS Gift Cards?
  After you have received the sealed packet, please check the number of units received against the Delivery Order and ensure that the security seal has not been tampered with on the Gift Card. Once the record is reconciled against the physical stocks, you need to input the Delivery Order number as confirmation of receipt through the NETS terminal.

A copy of the Delivery Order duly acknowledged by two employees needs to be sent back to NETS.
   
11. Can I transfer my Gift Card inventory to another location?
  Each Gift Card that we deliver to a particular location is meant only for sale through that particular outlet. A Gift Card cannot be transferred to another location, as the Gift Card will not activate from any other merchant terminal. If you need additional stocks for other outlets, you need to get in touch with our Customer Services Representative to order inventory for this new outlet. We will be more than happy to process this order as per our standard delivery timeframe of 5-7 business days.
   
12. What is the sales process to sell NETS Gift Card?
  The NETS Gift card comes in three predefined values ($30, $50 & $100). When a customer wants to purchase a NETS Gift Card, the customer needs to present the Gift Card package to the cashier. The payment needs to be collected for the value of Gift Card sold and the load fee of $4 per card. The Gift Card needs to be taken out of the Gift pack and activated through the NETS terminal. As an added security a PIN number needs to be keyed in to authenticate the activation. The security seal needs to be scratched and input into the terminal when requested. If the Gift Card is sold without activation, it will not show up on our database as a sold Gift Card. This additional step is required to protect the integrity of our process and safeguard against misuse.

Please note that the Gift Card has no value until it is activated. You must activate the Card before the sales process can be completed.
   
13. How much will the customer pay for the Gift Card?
  There is a product load fee when customers purchase the NETS Gift Card. The standard Card load fee is $4 for all pre-defined values.
   
14. How much will I make selling the NETS Gift Card?
  Firstly, the NETS Gift Cards are provided on a consignment basis, so there is no upfront investment for stocking NETS Gift Card.
You will earn $1 for every Gift Card that you sell through your outlet. There is also an overriding commission based on number of Gift Cards sold by the entity on a biannual basis.
   
15. Why would the customer want to pay a Load fee on the NETS Gift Card?
  There are costs associated with the marketing of the Gift Card, but we believe we provide premium value for the price the customer pays. The Card load fee covers the attractive packaging, our promise of card replacement if the Gift Card is lost and the option to use the Gift Card in a variety of stores. This is, of course, backed by our promise of superior customer services.
   
16. Why can’t I sell variable valued Gift Cards from my store?
  The Gift card with a variable value is handled in a much more complex manner. The transaction time is usually longer and entails a number of steps that will add to the queue time at your location. If a customer is requesting for a variable valued Gift Card you can recommend the NETS Office.
   
17. Can I sell the NETS Gift Card to someone under 18?
  Yes, you can sell the NETS Gift Card to anyone of any age for any occasion. It can be given to friends, relatives, family as well as business associates. Some people use it as an allowance card for the teenagers.
   
18. Do Terms and Conditions apply?
  The Service Provider Agreement with NETS will cover the Terms & Conditions of our partnership.
   
19. Where can the NETS Gift Card be used?
  The NETS Gift Card can be used at retail stores such as department and specialty stores, gift shops, and many other top retailers, that welcome the NETS Gift Cards. The customer will look for the NETS Gift Card decal as a sign of welcome acceptance.
   
20. Where is the NETS Gift Card not valid?
  The Gift Card is not for use at ATMs or for the NETS Cashback service. Some additional restrictions may apply. It cannot be used outside Singapore.
   
21. Does the NETS Gift Card have an expiration date?
  The Gift Card expires 12 months from the date of issue – The expiration date is effective from the date of sale and is reflected on the purchase receipt. The expiration date will also appear every time a transaction is processed through the terminal.
   
22. How will the recipient know the value on their NETS Gift Card?
  The NETS Gift Card is a prepaid Gift Card that carries a predefined dollar value. The recipient will know the remaining value on the Card every time they transact, as the receipt will show the balance amount available.
   
23. What if the customer doesn’t have enough value on the NETS Gift Card to buy what they want - How do I combine other forms of payment?
  They can only spend the available funds on their Gift Card. Depending on your individual merchant policy; customers may be able to use their Gift Card plus another form of payment to make a purchase for an amount greater than their available funds. This is called a “split tender” transaction. To use their Gift Card for a purchase that is greater than the amount on the Card, the customer MUST ask the cashier if they accept two forms of payment. If your store policy permits, the customer pays the difference first with another form of payment accepted by you, and then swipe the Gift Card to pay the remaining balance.

If the customer doesn’t tell the cashier or merchant and tries to make a purchase for more than the amount on their Gift Card, the transaction will be declined because they don’t have enough money on their Gift Card.
   
24. What if the NETS Gift Card is declined?
  The NETS Gift Card can be declined if there are not sufficient funds remaining on the customers Gift Card to cover the amount of purchase. If you believe a transaction is incorrectly declined, please contact us at 6274 1212.
   
25. What if the customer wants to return or exchange something they purchased with the NETS Gift Card?
  If the customer feels that there is a transactional error, they must contact the merchant directly. Exchange or return of merchandise purchased in whole or in part with the Gift Card will be governed by the procedures and policies of each merchant and applicable law. The return or exchange will be dictated by the stores own policy.
   
26. Do Terms and Conditions apply?
  The Service Provider Agreement with NETS will cover the Terms & Conditions of our partnership.
   
27. How will I settle for the NETS Gift Card I have sold?
  Each Gift card sales transaction that you make will be captured on our system as sales receivable from your store. An end of day settlement report will show the amount of funds to be collected from you. We will initiate a GIRO payment from your account for the gross value of Gift cards sold. The commission on sale of S $1 will be left in your account when GIRO is effective.

The additional override commission will be credited to your account on a bi-annual basis. This will take into consideration your sales volume and threshold reached for the right compensation.
   
28. How will the NETS Gift Card be packaged?
  The NETS Gift Card package varies by denomination. However, each package is attractively designed as a prestigious gift for the recipient. Inside will be the NETS Gift Card. Each package contains a card for a personal message to the recipient and detailed instructions on how to use the Gift Card as well as Terms & Conditions.
   
29. What marketing collaterals will be provided at the time of launch?
  The NETS Gift Card launch will be backed with an attractive suite of marketing collaterals. This includes an attractive display unit that will hold the Gift cards, a section to hold Take One brochures for the consumer to understand the product benefits and features. We are also developing hanging mobiles and attractive posters to stimulate sales from your branches.

We would also encourage our distribution partners to offer real time offers to the purchaser and recipients when selling the Gift Card. This could be a 10-20% discount on their next purchase. It can be customised to meet your individual needs.
   
30. What if a Gift Card is lost or stolen from the Store?
  The Gift Card does not hold any value on the Card itself. The value is held in a secure host in NETS. You will only be responsible for the loss of the Gift Card package. A cost of S$4 per lost packet will be charged to your account. An inventory confirmation will be required on a bi-annual basis as part of our inventory management procedures.
