NETS CashCard

1. What is a NETS CashCard?
 
The NETS CashCard is a stored value card that can be used at most retail stores, car park payment machines, vending machines, pay phones and other places. It can be used to pay any amount up to a limit of S$500 or the balance in the store value, whichever is greater.
   
2. For how long can I use my NETS CashCard?
 
All NETS CashCard can be used for up to 5 years, after which another 2 years' will be given for withdrawals of remaining value in card. To check your card's expiry date, you can go to our homepage, click on"Check NETS CashCard expiry online" and key in your NETS CashCard 16-digit number.
   
3. Where can I buy a NETS CashCard?
  At DBS, OCBC or UOB bank branches
  At Esso, Mobil or Shell service stations
  At 7-Eleven or Cheers convenience stores
  At selected car parks and community libraries
   
4. Where can I top-up my NETS CashCard?

NETS CashBack

1. Is there any limit to how much I can take out of CashBack?
 
Firstly, your bank will have its daily withdrawal limit imposed on your ATM card. This varies from bank to bank. It’s best to check with your bank about this. Secondly, every store, too, has a cash limit for your CashBack withdrawal. For example, one store might set this at $200, while another might only allow $100.
   
2. Can I use my credit card for any cash withdrawal at CashBack outlets?
 
CashBack is an alternative method to withdrawing money from your bank account. Some banks combine their credit and ATM in a single card. In that case, you will be able to use your card for withdrawals. Otherwise, you can only do so from the nearest ATMs.

4. How do I pay with an eNETS CashCard?
  First, make sure you have what is required above.

NETS Gift Card

General Questions on NETS Gift Card
   
1. What is a NETS Gift Card?
  The NETS Gift Card is a prepaid Gift Card that has a pre-determined value of S$30, S$50 and S$100 stored and can be bought from a number of select retail outlets in Singapore.

The NETS Gift Card can also be purchased with a variable stored value which is only available from the NETS Office. This gives unlimited choices for the purchaser to suit any occasion.

It can be used at select retail outlets in Singapore that accept NETS Gift Cards. The total dollar amount of purchases made with the Gift Card will be deducted automatically from the value stored in the Card.

At the time of purchase, you will receive a transaction receipt that indicates the available balance on the Gift Card. Once the amount available on the Gift Card is exhausted, all further transactions will be declined. Transactions that exceed the remaining Card balance will also be declined.
   
2. What makes the NETS Gift Card different from other store gift cards and certificates?
  The NETS Gift Card is the ideal gift because it can be used at a wide variety of top establishments in Singapore that accept NETS Gift Cards.

As a NETS Gift Card holder, you can choose from a vast selection of NETS Gift Cards merchants, unlike a store Gift Card or certificate, which limits you to purchases at only one establishment. Moreover, the Gift Card can also be used more than once, at different retailers, until the funds are depleted. This way, you have maximum flexibility to use the gift as you choose. In addition, as a plastic card, it can be stored easily in a purse or wallet without the fear of folding or tearing.
   
3. Is the NETS Gift Card a credit card?
  No, the NETS Gift Card is a prepaid gift card that carries a pre-defined dollar value and is available from a number of select retail outlets. You also have the flexibility to buy a Gift Card of any value between S$40 and S$500 from NETS’ Office in Singapore, with the value determined by the you at the time of purchase. Each time the card is used, the purchase amount is deducted from the available balance.
   
4. What denominations are the NETS Gift Cards available in?
  For purchase from NETS Gift Card authorised retail outlets, the following prepaid amounts are available: $30, $50 and $100. You can also purchase Gift Cards in any whole dollar amount you choose from S$40 to S$500 online from our website at www.giftcard.com.sg or from NETS office at 298, Tiong Bahru Road, #04-01/06 Central Plaze, S168730.
   
5. Can value be added to the NETS Gift Card?
  No, but you can purchase a new NETS Gift Card from a store. Once the value of the Card has been depleted, the Card is no longer valid and may be kept for its sentimental value.
   
6. How will the NETS Gift Card be packaged?
  The NETS Gift Card comes in an exquisite package and varies by denomination. It is attractively designed as a prestigious and thoughtful gift for your recipient. In addition to the NETS Gift Card, each package contains a card for you to write a personal message to your recipient, detailed instructions on how to use the Gift Card, as well as the Terms and Conditions.
   

Purchasing the NETS Gift Card
   
1. Where can I buy the NETS Gift Card?
  NETS Gift Cards can be purchased at popular Gift Shops, participating financial service institutions, retailers and malls. (For a full list of Distributors, please visit our website at www.giftcard.com.sg.) NETS Gift Cards can also be purchased online or at NETS office located at 298, Tiong Bahru Road, #04-01/06, Central Plaza, Singapore 168730.
   
2. Can I give the NETS Gift Card to someone under 18?
  Yes, you can give the NETS Gift Card to anyone of any age for any occasion. It can be given to friends, relatives, family as well as business associates.
   
3. Can I send a personalised message with the NETS Gift Card?
  Yes. The NETS Gift Card package contains a Card for you to write a personal message to your recipient.
   
4. How can I pay for the NETS Gift Card?
  To purchase your NETS Gift Card through select retail outlets, we encourage you to use your NETS card. Or you can ask the cashier for other payment choices available. Accepted forms of payment vary by seller, and are determined by the policies and procedures of each seller.

Please check with the seller before initiating a transaction.
   
5. How much does it cost to buy a NETS Gift Card?
  The Gift Card is retailed at $4 above the value of the Card. I.e. a $30 Gift Card will be retailed at $34, $50 Gift Card at $54 and $100 Gift Card at $104. This fee (called the Load fee) covers the costs of design and packaging. Load fee may vary depending on the different Card variations that NETS may introduce.
   
6. Can I return an unused NETS Gift Card for a refund?
  No. Once a purchase of a gift card is made it cannot be cancelled or refunded.
   

Using the NETS Gift Card
   
1. Do I need to do anything before using my NETS Gift Card?
  At the time of purchase at the merchant, you will be required to remove the security seal and key in the PIN to activate the Gift Card.

Please note that the Gift Card does not contain any value until it is activated. Thus, please ensure that your Card has been activated by the merchant before leaving the store.

You should also write down your Gift Card number and keep it in a separate place, just in case it is lost or stolen. Please refer to the Terms and Conditions for additional details.
   
2. Where can the NETS Gift Card be used?
  The NETS Gift Card can be used at retail stores such as specialty stores, gift shops, and many other top retailers, that accept the NETS Gift Cards. Look for the NETS Gift Card decal as a sign of acceptance. For a full listing, visit www.giftcard.com.sg
   
3. Can I use my NETS Gift Card at more than one merchant?
  Yes, as long as there are sufficient funds remaining on the Gift Card.
   
4. Where is the NETS Gift Card not valid?
  The Card is not for use at ATMs or for the NETS Cashback service. It cannot be used outside Singapore.

5. Can I use the NETS Gift Card to withdraw cash at an ATM?
  No. The NETS Gift Cards are only accepted at NETS Gift Card retail establishments and cannot be used for cash withdrawals.
   
6. Can the NETS Gift Card be used for online purchases?
  This option is currently being explored and users will be informed once this is made available.
   
7. Does the NETS Gift Card have an expiry date?
  Your Gift Card expires 12 months from the date of issue – The expiry date is effective from the date of sale and is reflected on the NETS Gift Card receipt. The expiry date will also appear every time you transact. There will not be any refund for the amount on the Gift Card after the expiry date. Please see Terms and Conditions for more details.
   
8. What if the NETS Gift Card is lost or stolen?
  Please visit NETS Sales and Customer Service Centre during business hours so that we can cancel your Gift Card. You will be required to provide your Card number and other identifying information. As a pre-caution, please keep your Gift Card number in a safe place for a hassle-free card replacement process. After verification, you will be provided a new Gift Card with the amount remaining on the lost or stolen Card at the time you notify us. A replacement fee of $10 replacement fee will be applicable. Note: It is important that you notify us as soon as possible when your Gift Card is lost or stolen. Funds debited from a lost/stolen Gift Card prior to our receipt of your notification cannot be replaced. The value in the Card is not exchangeable for cash. 9. How can I check the remaining value on the NETS Gift Card?
  The NETS Gift Card is a prepaid Gift Card that carries a pre-determined dollar value. You can find out the remaining value on the Card each time you use it as the receipt will show the balance amount available. You can also obtain a balance enquiry printout at the POS counter of any Gift Card merchant.
   
10. What if I don’t have enough value on the NETS Gift Card to buy what I want - How do I combine other forms of payment?
  You can only spend up to the available funds on your Gift Card. Depending on the individual merchant policy; you may be able to use the Gift Card plus another form of payment to make a purchase for an amount greater than your available funds (also known as a Split Tender). To use your Gift Card for a purchase that exceeds the Card balance, please check with the cashier on the forms of payment available. Certain establishments may only accept NETS or cash for the second form of payment. If the cashier agrees, you can pay the difference first with another form of payment accepted by the retailer or restaurant, and then use your Gift Card to pay the remaining balance.

When a purchase is made and the value exceeds the balance on your Gift Card, the transaction will be declined due to insufficient funds on your Gift Card.

You are advised to keep track of your Gift Card balance so that you will not be inconvenienced when the purchase amount exceeds the Card balance. The latter will always be shown on your last transaction receipt.
   
11. What if the NETS Gift Card is declined?
  The NETS Gift Card will be declined if there are insufficient funds remaining on your Card to cover the amount of your purchase. It is important to keep track of your available funds to ensure that you do not exceed your limit. If you want to make a purchase that exceeds the funds available on your Card, please follow the instructions detailed in the question above on "combining forms of payment."

12. What should I do if a retailer does not want to accept the NETS Gift Card?
  The Card can only be used at retailers in Singapore that accept the NETS Gift Card. If the recipient attempts to use it at other non-participating retail outlets, the Gift Card will be declined.

If a retailer has a welcome acceptance material displayed at the storefront and yet refuses to accept the Card, please call NETS Sales and Customer Service Centre at 6274 1212 during business hours.
   
13. What if I want to return or exchange something I purchased with the NETS Gift Card?
  Purchases made with prepaid cards are similar to purchases made with cash. You cannot lodge a "billing dispute" or request a "stop payment." NETS is not responsible for the services or merchandise purchased with the Gift Card, and is not responsible for the return or exchange of merchandise purchased with the Gift Card. If you believe there has been a transactional error, you must contact the merchant directly. Exchange or return of merchandise purchased in whole or in part with the Gift Card will be governed by the procedures and policies of each merchant and applicable law. At the time of any exchange or return, you should present both the merchandise receipt and the Gift Card. Each merchant location has its own return policies and will handle the returns in the same manner as their policy dictates.
   
14. What if I use only a portion of the value of the NETS Gift Card, what happens to the value remaining on the Card?
  The NETS Gift Card can be used as many times as you want before the expiry date or until the value of the Card is depleted. The recipient can enjoy more than one purchase with your gift as long as a balance remains on the Card. For replacement of lost or stolen cards, the new Gift Card will have the same expiry date as the original card, and will be good for that period only from the date of re-issue.

We encourage you to use the entire gift amount before the card expires. The Card cannot be surrendered or exchanged for cash.
   

Checking the balance on your NETS Gift Card
   
1. How do I check the available funds on my NETS Gift Card?
  You can obtain a balance enquiry printout at the POS counter of any Gift Card merchant. You can also check your balance on the transaction receipt, as every time you use your card the remaining balance will be shown on the receipt.
